If you have more than 100 items in the shop, manual change of prices can be quite tiresome, especially if suppliers change them several times per month. Matrices let you make this process automatic.

A matrix is a set of rules that forms the total price for customers on the basis of the initial item price.

E.g., the supplier sells you roses at the price of 10 to 100 dollars as there are a lot of various rose species. Therefore it would be logical not to enter markups manually but to ask the system to count it automatically, and to set different markup for different categories.

A markup can be formed according to two rules: 1. Adding of percentage of price:

 40 purchase dollars + 10% = 44 dollars (price for customers).

2. Adding of a fixed amount: if items are cheap it is more profitable to set a fixed markup:

5 purchase dollars + 10 markup dollars = 15 dollars (price for customers).

To work with matrices open the section Pricing matrices. By default there are two matrices: Price matrix by default and Discount system matrix.

The first one determines markup rules for goods, and discount matrix allows automatic counting of discounts. You can add new matrices and edit the existing.

Matrices are used when processing price lists – you specify the matrix that must be used for the goods of a certain supplier. You can also adjust matrices separately for different categories via the menu «Goods management».

One more matrix you can create and use is a delivery matrix for the counting of delivery rates. It can also depend on a price.
